How to prevent your cat from getting lost |

Here are some ways that you can help prevent your cat from becoming lost.
Does your cat bolt for an opened door whenever she sees one? Or sit at the window and cry to get outside? What sort of cat-friendly environment have you created for your inside-only cat? They love to climb, does she have a sturdy, tall cat post or cat ramps to jump on? Is there a convenient window perch she can go to and watch the outside activity? Does she have the proper toys to amuse her, and do you spend time with her every day playing with her and engaging her prey instinct with interactive toys?
One easy way to keep a cat happy and help them burn off energy is to make them a ball bin. You will need a large empty cardboard box, such as a small appliance would be packed in. You want to cut off the flaps on one end and then cut holes in the side (off the ground level) that are big enough for your cat to jump in and out of. Put the box in a corner to wedge it in, and toss some ping pong balls inside. Your cat will be thoroughly entertained.
Collars and tags: collars and tags can easily be removed. Collars will also sometimes get caught on objects when cats are outside making collars hazardous to the well-being of your cat.
